The Neon Tetra is a freshwater fish located within the Amazon river basin of Columbia, Brazil and Peru. It has become one of the most popular tropical fish in the industry due to its peaceful nature and vibrant colours, making it a brilliant addition to any community tank. They live in shoals mainly in the middle of the water column. A slender and small fish, so for that reason should not be kept with any substantially larger fish, for example - Angelfish. Groups of 10+ are recommended to truly appreciate this fishes full potential. Under proper conditions a Neon Tetra can live up to 10 years.
